Samford is a top national team for sure, only respect for them. Really interesting how they constantly rotate their players, it wore us out and we couldn't figure out how to stop it. Constant pressure and fresh players. We definitely didn't look as caught up in the full court defense this time around, even had multiple times we got it down the court before them. Call me crazy but I feel like we can crack this full court, constant subbing strategy if we have to face them again.
I believe our starting 5 is better than theirs. We just gotta keep winning these full court presses and catch them off guard. Maybe some more fast break plays/practice, im not sure.

They beat us bad. I hate to say it but I think we played the SoCon champs tonight I think that is probably a good assessment of the situation.

I had to stop watching this one, we didn't have a chance to win this game from the first whistle, we can't play the number one team in the conference and the officials on the road. This is bad, damn bad officiating. a biased opinion on the SoCon officials last night...

Nothing we can do about the subbing strategy - Samford has more players. We have experienced guards, so we handle the press pretty well (better the first time than last night) but when your starters have to go 35 minutes it just wears them out. We have to shoot the ball well, and we didn't hit enough open looks when we got them. If Russell and Trey are off, we're kinda cooked. Samford is hitting on all cylinders. They're pretty good. Side note: A team that good shouldn't be playing in front of 1,300 at home. How lame is that?

a biased opinion on the SoCon officials last night... No officiating crew could have saved Western last night. I didn't blame the officials for the loss, I said we had no chance against the #1 team AND the officials... We might have had no chance anyway in a fairly officiated game, but we will never know, will we? It would be nice if folks read before criticizing someone else's post...

The sad part is how lean next year will be with almost all of our scoring gone and most likely a new coaching staff.

You replied to a comment about bad officiating by posting a tweet that questioned the officiating. Are you always this easily triggered? Lighten up for Christ sake.

I have heard whispers of Coach Gray leaving after this year and in turn would take his coaching staff. I guess the better thing to say is he will be looking after this year and a lot of mid majors will be interested. I think the rush on his part is his wife is not a fan of the rural location of WCU and spends most of her time at the house in the Charlotte area
