7 On Your Side's Tracey Early has been keepig in touch with Western Carolina grad Manteo Mitchell who's in London for the Olympics.
Q - We saw that BBC story you were featured in, from aLondon movie premier. It looks like you were well received, even by the locals! What was that like for you?
A - I was raised the "right way". My mother taught me to always be professional. That extends off the track as well. I love doing interviews. I want to be the face of the 400m dash in the near future. That is something I m working towards right now.
Q - There's been talk that London's pollution/air quality could impact runners. Has that impacted your running at all?
A - I have yet to hear anything on that. My running has not been interrupted by pollution/air quality.
Q - Did you make it to any Olympic events during the first week?
A - I attended a Men's basketball game against Nigeria. It was great getting to see my favorite players play together. They really are an awesome combination; a dream team!
Q - Now that track and field is starting, are you getting more nervous/excited?
A - I never really get nervous when I run anymore. That was back in my earlier collegiate competitions. I am overly joyed that Athletics (Track & Field) has started.
Q - What days should we be watching out for you on the track?
A - August 9th and 10th
Q - Any message you'd like to send to your fans here at home?
A - Thanks for the continued support and follow me on twitter (@manteomitchell)
