From the ACT's High School Huddle
Smoky Mountain sophomore quarterback Zeb Speir is expected to sit out Friday’s home football game against defending NCHSAA 1-AA champion Swain County.
Speir, who is the son of Western Carolina University coach Mark Speir, has a sprained neck after suffering a late hit in the first quarter of last Friday’s 32-21 loss at Cherokee.
At the time of the injury, Speier had thrown for 81 yards and a touchdown.

Swain won 48-0 but I would assume Cody Briggs played the entire time at QB.

48-6... I dont think having Speir wouldve helped at all. The only time SM moved the ball on us was when penalties were called. 2nd String was in 6 minutes into the 3rd Quarter
I hope hes okay though, theyll need him down the road.
