The Cats travel to Elon on Saturday night to play the division leading Phoenix. The Cats need a win to remain in second place in the north and continue to hold on to a tournament bye. Read more on Purple & Gold's game preview: WCU at Elon - It's 1 vs. 2 in the North

If the players are serious about winning, they'll need consistent scoring, no long scoring droughts. Control the fouls and turn overs and the Cats can win.

29-28 Elon at the half.
Good job with the defense and not putting Elon on the foul line so much.
Go Cats

This was a winnable game in regulation. The Cats did a great job of getting back into the game late in the second half, a poorly called foul in the last seconds put Elon on the foul line to tie the game. Elon, like Davidson are going to get the homer refs, just look once again at the foul discrepancy.

Once again, inconsistent shooting killed us. We took 62 shots, yes, 62 but only made 25 baskets, that's 39% shooting. Elon only took 46 shots, BUT made 24 of them, that's 52% shooting, and that's what wins games. The Catamount truly take toooooooooooooo many BAD shots, unfortunately, most of the starters are guilty.
We continue to beat ourselves, and when we meet up with homer refs, we're surly doomed.

I think Hunter finally realized that Boggs shoots way too many bad shots. He only played 14 mins. The question I have is the final shot in regulation. We have been practicing all year and is that our last second play? Why not a call a time out and SET UP A PLAY??? Have Sumler and Tank work off of each other so we get a quality shot and not an off balanced prayer. Then in OT, Tank did not shot at all until the last shot attempt with no time left. We need to make sure that Sumler and Tank are the only two shooting during clutch situations. This team has potential, but often lacks the bball IQ that it takes to win against a team that is better (Elon or Davidson).
