I saw these numbers over on the SoCon board.
SoCon Championship game - 2013
Davidson vs Charleston - Attendance: 4,021
(attendance in year #1 in Asheville: Davidson vs. WCU - Attendance: 6,049)
That's a 2,000 person drop in attendance from last year to this year. If anything attendance should have increased. You had the best teams (record wise) playing for a not only the conference championship, but a ticket to the NCAA tournament. Charleston hasn't been since or won a conference championship since 1999, plus the fact this was their last game as a member of the SoCon, playing against their biggest rival in the SoCon, Davidson.
I know the Davidson crowd was there, but what happened to the CofC following?

They were "too good" to be there. I wish Davidson was leaving for the CAA with them. Imagine in a few years if it's WCU vs ETSU for all the SoCon marbles. SRO CROWD! GO CATS!

I believe over 2000 students were there
