No WCU32 I didn’t play for WCU, I played at a D2 school in Ohio back in the day (pride prevents me from saying how old I really am but if it helps Iron Butterfly was my favorite group). Back then I never heard of WCU, wish I had and tried to play there (I think I would have made the team but you know, your skills when you were younger grow as you get older). I wouldn’t want to play there now with the current coach (it appears that he plays the favorite game and I never was good at it). In response to the other question, I have not posted about the player ejected after the final Citadel game. I can understand his reaction to the vulgar actions and language used by the cadets (maybe they are training to be sailors) on his home field, it upset me also. In my younger testosterone filled youth I would have reacted the same way (and I probably would have been sitting next to him on the bench the next two games cause I never got away with anything). However players must realize there are consequences to their actions, it just happens that the classless cadets got away with it this time. He was picked out by the umps tossed and paid his fine end of story. My gripe is with the cheap shot that was the catalyst of things to come (heck it charged the classless cadets up enough to win the game). When you hit an opponent below the knees should a cleat get caught you have a chance of causing a season or career ending injury, remember Joe Theismann. I know “he who should not be named” was probably mad because he was picked off first but the cheap shot was inexcusable as was his reaction and language to his coach. Looks like he got a slap on the wrist that equals a missed midweek game LOL. That worked for one game as the ump tossed him the first game at Furman for unsportsmanlike conduct. My guess is that this is a learned behavior pattern that has been tolerated in the past. We can all hope that with direction, anger management, yoga and tai chi that the cycle can be broken.

Sure it fired The Citadel up but that had little to do with the outcome of the game probably nothing to do with it. The reason they lost that game was because of WALKS. In a 3-0 game you can not walk 2 batters especially at WCU where the ball flies out of the park on most days. In the 7th Smith walked the first 2 guys and gave up a HR to tie it. Then in the top of 9th in tie game Hatcher walked the leadoff man. And guess what that walk scored. So sorry those actions of Neary had very little if anything to do with outcome.
Emotion in baseball is usually not a good thing. The guys that get all fired up are the ones that do not get it done more times than not. Why do you think your not supposed to squeeze the hell out the bat at the plate? You get mad you squeeze and you have slower bat speed.
If someone does not like cussing than you might want to wear ear muffs the next time you go to game. Yes you can go overboard but they are 18-22 year olds and 18-22 year olds tend to cuss.

Summer, Yeah you're right el Cid lost their moral compass when they came here. Are you dragging this out and talking about the same guy snowman mentioned? 32, Snowman? As far as one of the guys, Austin, lets not jump on him. Yeah he messed up during the Furman 1st game, but he is open with us about it and knows he needs to change. Yeah throw the freshman card out, but in the whee its not acceptable for the guys and gals we extend a recruiting offer. Hopefully we won't see him mess up again and he takes to following big bro advice from the upperclassman for how to handle himself.

From what been told it was the Citadel catcher that started all the crap for the most part. He was talking crap to almost every hitter when they came to plate. But also that our guys did act very bush. Its always the reaction that is caught not the one who starts it.
