It should have been a W for the Cats, but I am so proud of them because they played a good, solid ball game and never gave up; they played well both halves with a few turnovers, only 9 for the whole game which is much lower than the average this season, and they played as a team, which I believe, makes the difference. U of Ga shot 38 free throws, while the Cats only shot 10, but made 8.....smh, something is just not right about that.

Lose by 2 points or 22 points, the record book records it the same, a loss. This coaching staff is just not getting the job done. They have the talent to be at least 11-3 right now rather than 6-8. The 1-8 road record is pretty telling about the coaching staff, a total lack of consistency game to game. We need a change at the end of the season.

I agree. I think Hunter has taken WCU as far as he can take a team. Time for him to move back east and be with his family.

Hard to watch the final 5 minutes -dissapointing loss.

There is no doubt that the officials did everything they could to keep UGA in the game, certainly the timing of the final foul is suspect.
If the Bulldogs had been making their foul shots, this would have been another blow out. There is either a lack of defensive discipline or this team is just not being properly coached in the finer points of man to man defense.

“I thought their team deserved to win that game more than ours did,” Georgia head coach Mark Fox said. “I’d have to agree with him on that,” Western Carolina head coach Larry Hunter said. Hunter was upset with Georgia getting the chance to win the game at the line. The game was tied when Mann drove down the lane, and officials called a foul on the Catamounts, signaling that they hacked Mann on the arm. “Give (Georgia) credit, they fought back on us, and we had some opportunities to take advantage, but I just can’t understand how they determined this kind of ballgame with a free throw right there at the end,” Hunter said. “ That’s the ballgame right there. Make them earn it. They may have beaten us, but make them earn it. I’m not trying to take anything away from the University of Georgia, but it’s just very, very frustrating.” Hunter might also have been frustrated with the way the calls went in general, his team whistled for twice as many personal fouls (26-to-13). But Georgia couldn’t take advantage, going 24-for-38 from the line. Read more here: www.macon.com/2013/12/21/2844591/georgia-wins-despite-itself.html#storylink=cpy
