I went over to Florence SC last night to see the Wilson Tobs (and Jonathan Waszak) play the Florence Redwolves. Jonathan did not pitch last night but he said he was working hard this summer so that he can hopefully have a break-out season in 2015 for the Cats. I told him we will really need him to be a stud on the mound, given all our pitching losses this year.
BTW, the Florence Redwolves are playing their games at the Francis Marion University campus. Excellent facility! Sparrow Stadium rivals or exceeds anything in the SoCon. And FMU is a D-2 school.

Martin just went in 10th round #291 overall to Seattle.
Only SoCon guys have seen are GSU's Howard went in 3rd round 82nd overall to Colorado and UNCG's Povse also went in 3rd #102 overall to Braves. If Howard was available when Braves picked they were gonna take him and pay over slot so he should get a good pay day. #82 has slotted just over $690k. Not bad
Rd 10 is last round for today and will finish 11-40 tomorrow. Hopefully Null will go soon so he can get decent $.

The Hi-Toms in the Coastal Plain League played the Florence Red Wolves in Florence, SC last night. Catamount Dale Uruqhart, Jr. plays for the Hi-Toms.
Dale Jr. DH'd last night and had a pretty good night. 1-3 (solid single to LF) and HBP. Scored both times he reached base. In fact, he scored the winning run.
Game was tied 4-4 in the 7th inning. Dale "took one for the team" and was on base when a HR left the yard. Final score was 6-4.
Dale Jr's parents came down from Fayetteville to see the game. Those who attend very many Catamount games know Dale & Tammy. It was good to see them again.

Would love to see the big guy get to a point where he's starting all the time. Go DALE! His folks are great.

Last night on FoxSports South, the California Summer League All-Star game was televised. Jacob Hoyle was the starting 1B for the North All-Stars. I saw Jacob bat twice (4-3 groundout & an RBI single to RF). Watched until the 5th inning and the North was leading 3-2... (I think...) I started to nod off and just gave up and went to bed.
Jacob is having a great summer with the San Luis Obispo Blues. Batting .325; leading all batters with 25 RBI's.
SLO Blues are in second place in their division with a 19-9 record.
