Wow, I am surprised by the stomping that Furman received. How was your first Homecoming weekend in Cullowhee? The band seemed to play a little more Saturday, did that come up in any conversations? It was an incredible homecoming week! And yes, it actually did come up in a meeting after our morning rehearsal Saturday. Last week our band director and the athletics department met and it was decided that the band was going to get more playing time during the game. The time we are allowed to play is mostly decided by outside forces, much more so than I had previously realized. Apparently some emails have been going around saying that people want the band to be more involved! I don't know if that has been anyone from here or not, but people's voices are being heard and that is great. I hope that it opens up more doors for us to play more often, because I think that if properly used that our band can really add to the atmosphere of the games. The band as a whole generally seems very invested in our team right now, and we even discussed where we were in the season and what opportunities the team has if it keeps winning. The directors are really pushing to get the band to play a major role in the crowd to support the team and bring our home field advantage to the next level, and I can definitely see that everyone in the program is extremely excited that we have a winning team to work for this year. It has been an awesome time and I am really looking forward to this weekend.
