Western Carolina’s Taylor Sigmon has been named General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for competition held Feb. 10-16, the league office announced Wednesday.
Sigmon, a pitcher and infielder on the Catamounts’ softball team, saw action in the pitching circle all five games at the Savannah State Tournament over the weekend, posting a 1.87 ERA and fanning 21 batters in 15 innings. She picked up a pair of wins over Drexel and Savannah State.
