This is not a good development for the 2018 Catamounts. Brendan Nail would have been our #1 starter.

I agree it's not a good development for next year's team, however, I guess he saw what happened to Bowman and decided to make the move when the offer was put on the table.

I agree it will not help us out this year but for Brendan it was the smartest move. He would have lost at least $100,000 if not more if he would have stayed plus if he would have had an off year or gotten hurt could've lost it all. Other than playing his senior year he stood to gain nothing for staying and he got max dollars for going. I still to this date cannot figure out the Bowman situation. I personally believe they missed out on a great player by not drafting him. Good luck to Brendan and all the Catamount players.

You make an excellent point... A young man who wants to follow his dream of playing professional ball has to take the best offer on the table NOW vs. waiting on the come.
I agree about Bryson Bowman. How could at least one of the 30 MLB teams not see his talent? Blows me away.

Anyone know what he signed for? If he didnt get $100,000+ he may regret it. If they dont invest in you they wont let you stick around long if not getting it done. Last time i can remember someone signing free agent after JR year was Roy Hurst back in 1994 and didnt work out very well for him. He was released in 2nd year if not mistaken. But cant blame him for taking the $

Brendan has moved to the Greenville (SC) Drive after the Lowell, Mass short season ended last week.
Greenville is in the SAL playoffs right now. Finish this week.
