To me, we are at the wait and see stage... a lot of new faces will be on the field this fall... I feel that we have recruited well but the young men are going to need some game time... as to Samford, I feel that they are the team to beat in the SoCon... they are loaded with a lot of experience coming back... I believe they were the only conference team to beat Wofford last year...
I, and I am sure everyone else on this board, would love nothing better than for the Cats to have a break out season!!!

Not making it about WCU, there are only 2 SoCon teams on the entire list (including the "others to watch" section), and there are 7 Missouri Valley, 6 CAA, 6 Big Sky, and even 2 Big South teams with KSU coming in at #5. Seems to me that Athlon doesn't think the SoCon is getting deeper but that we are all moving towards the same level of mediocrity???

Nah, they always rank the SoCon lower than most of the conferences, especially since App and GaSo left. There will be 3 teams in the top 25 and probably 2 in the top 15 by the end of the season. If the SoCon could get into the finals they would rank the conference higher

Interesting note that the following schools pretty much were awful three years ago: Elon, Delaware, NC A&T, and Austin Peay. And KSU didn't exist (in football).
