Chattanooga Mocs starting quarterback Cole Copeland will not be available for the 2018 football season. Multiple trusted sources tell WRCB Sports Director Paul Shahen that Copeland has been ruled academically ineligible. UTC Head Coach Tom Arth confirmed through the Mocs Athletic Department that Copeland has been "suspended for the season, will remain on the team and will remain at practice." It’s the second time in as many seasons the Mocs will lose a starting quarterback for academic issues. Alejandro Bennifield was suspended for the first four games of 2017 because of an NCAA academic issue. Copeland, the Bradley Central grad entered his freshman season as the third-string quarterback but after injuries to both Alejandro Bennifield and Nick Tiano, Copeland took the reins and was eventually named to the 2017 SoCon All-Freshman team. www.wrcbtv.com/story/38707022/mocs-cole-copeland-suspended-for-season

Here's hoping this keeps the Mocs in that hole they found themselves in last season. We need to win this game.

Here's hoping this keeps the Mocs in that hole they found themselves in last season. We need to win this game. Amen to that. Two factors played into Chattanooga improving in the last 5 or 6 years prior to last year. Russ Huesman made Chattanooga as good as they were and when he left to coach Richmond, he took the winning with him. The second factor was that he came to Chattanooga about the time App and Ga Southern were leaving. Chattanooga is a middle of the Socon pack school and will eventually end up there. If they have another bad year, they will fire their coach and have to start all over. Here is to keeping them down.
