Was anyone on this board a member of the Catamount Club the first year it was in existence?

It started as the Big Cat Club about 50 years ago.
Doubt any of the original leadership are still around. Steve White would know, if anyone knows.

The original Catamount Club (1960s) was a season ticket club. It became the Big Cat Club in the 1968-69 athletic year and I became the first executive director in 1970 along with the sports information, ticket office, marketing and other duties. Bob McGinnis became the executive director when the organization was moved out of the athletics department in 1978 to the development office to combine all fund raising into one office. I choose to stay in the athletics department as sports information director. Soon after, Tom Bommer was the executive director followed by Marty Ramsey. The name was changed back to the Catamount Club in the 80s. There are a few of the original Big Cat Club members still around including Gary Rockett, Norman West, Baxter Wood, Gurney Chambers, Phil Haire and a half dozen or so others. We raised around $50,000 a year in those early year and didn't get to the $100,000 mark until 1980.

My ex father-in-law was very active in the Big Cat Club back in the late 70s and 80s until his passing in the late 80s. He was a character and loved that purple jacket!
