According to family, Wes had 3 major surgeries within the 13 month's following his injury. Even after extensive rehab, he was never able to compete nor fully recover due to nerve damage. Thanks for the info. Hope he continues to make his mark as a coach.

Did I miss something about Wes Holcombe? He's not on the football roster, and #14 is now assigned to someone else. Holcombe was a redshirt junior, did he decide not to play his final year? or did he transfer? Noticed that Ray Smith is not on the current roster this year. He is the QB from Swain County-Cherokee area who transferred from ECU and saw a little playing time last year after sitting out the previous year. He still had a year of eligibility left. We are so much deeper at several positions this year and QB is definitely one of them. Coach Speir's recruiting classes have gotten better and better. We need to move from the 7-win status up to the 8 or 9-win status this year and recruiting will get more better. (^_-)
