Shelton Felton -
Tennessee has plucked a full-time assistant coach at the Football Championship Subdivision level and added him to its football staff. Shelton Felton, the outside linebackers coach and assistant head coach at UT Chattanooga, has joined the Vols as a quality control analyst.

The guy leaves a valid coaching position to take a QC position - with the season starting in less than two weeks. Say what you will, all that loyalty talk by coaches is just that. blowing smoke up their players and fans butts.... $$$$ talk, coaches walk.

Serious question - even at a "big" school, how much money does a quality control analyst make? Of course this is a move to help with the next (hopeful) step in his career, but I am interested if an FBS QC position pays more than an FCS position coach, particularly where the guy held an "assistant head coach" title???
For example, a quick search shows SMU has a QC role open right now. Pay is $35-$39k. I expect Tennessee might pay more, but how much?

I saw this on AGS from a post by the Mercer guy that posts about everybody. I didn't check his facts, but if true, the Mocs are very inexperienced in their coaching staff at the D1 level.
