A few things that stand out to me: - Remember last year how many "- or -" entries we would always see? At least to start the season, it looks like the starters and the depth chart is pretty set.
- Holloway does not show up, even though he has the most experience running the football. I am not surprised with Young being the starter, but am surprised that there isn't one of those "- or -" entries with Holloway and Spencer. Is he hurt? in the dog house? is Spencer just performing better? My guess is Speir knows he needs to play the best guys, so Spencer must have moved ahead.
- I like that lots of the 2nd team guys are really young (on both sides of the ball) and hopefully they will get some valuable experience. I don't like that all 3 of the guys at one of our CB spots are Frosh/RS Frosh. Same token, I absolutely love the amount of experience we have back on offense.
- Overall defensive size looks better - but a whole lot of starts and tackles are being replaced at the LB position. The secondary should be strong with Tillman, Brannon, and Elliott. But I don't want our Safeties leading the team in tackles.
- Overall, only 2 RS Frosh are listed as outright starters (both on D). So this is a roster of first-teamers that all have 2 or more years in the program (most have 3+).
- It is great to see Berryman is listed as the starter - must mean his "injury" was not too big a deal or else I could have seen us holding him out week 1 (maybe even through the first couple of games).

Thanks smack!!! I didn't know he was hurt, but good to know we will have another option - and particularly one who can get us the couple of tough yards for a 1st down to extend a drive - when the SoCon slate comes around. Holloway is a RS Sr with 173 career carries, so that is why I was surprised.

Our wide receiver group, outside of Able as listed #1's and #2"s, might be the shortest in college football.

Yep - we do have Thorpe and Stribling who over time I expect to see some action (both 6'3"). In a strange twist, our defensive secondary starters are all taller than our tallest WR starter.

Where is JerMichael White? Played in all 12 games last year with 8 starts and he can't make the two deep? Is he hurt?

Maybe it's just me, but hasn't our staff always been quiet about injuries? Other schools seem to put out much more information. Not saying it's a bad thing to be hush, hush, but I remember several times asking about a player - to be told "oh yeah, he's out for the year, had ACL injury 3 or 4 weeks ago". At our level, I don't see a competitive advantage for not being transparent.

Interesting fact (since I just added this up to post on another board), but according to our media guide/player profiles our listed starters on the offensive line have a total of 81 starts including 38 last year (bump that to 95 total starts and 50 last year if you throw in Kaleb Spry).
If the old saying is true that O-lineman typically get better with experience....

As a parent of a player I try to give what I know out but not too much info. Corey is my son’s roommate ,he is working his butt off to get back on the field. All of these guys work their butt off. It’s not easy to be a college football player lol. We will be fine at WR this year, it’s a position of strength. Could be several guys that have some nagging injury things that they will sit out this week then get almost 3 full weeks before our next game. I’m more up on the offenseive guys then the D. Just focus on that when I’m watching practice and such.
