Watching the Tech/Chattanooga game. It looks like the Mocs maybe somewhat improved this season over last.
The game is on ESPN3, but there is no crowd noise, nor can you hear the public address announcer, sounds strange without all that background noise, just the voices of the two announcers.....

I kinda thought improved, but then again this has not been a very pretty game so far. Take out the 89-yard TD that came on a pass that only went to about the line of scrimmage and UTC would have 155 yards compared to Tennessee Tech's 123. I will say UTC has a couple of transfers on the O-line who came from big programs that look like they might be much better than the line play from the Mocs last year, but it hasn't been overwhelming yet.
Then I thought about last season for them. I really didn't think UTC's D was that bad, but they were put in impossible situations by either turnovers OR in having to be on the field for way too many minutes (kinda like WCU in 2016 and in a number of years before 2014). UTC's offense has looked better than the limited amount I saw las year, but I don't know how good Tn Tech is. Other than the Tech QB having tons of running room in the middle of the field, their Offense has been downright awful.
Side note: I hope we see a good running QB like Tyrie Adams get all that room to run in the middle of the field

And UTC with 2 early 3rd quarter TDs - 1 defensive, and another on a much better looking drive with some good running yards. I hope UTC pulls away and blows them out. I don't know how much it will really help the SoCon, but blowout wins in OOC games are better than losses.

Tennessee Tech was pretty awful last year - 1-10. I don't think they are much improved this year.
By the way - the #9 ranked New Hampshire got blown out by unranked Maine 35-7. Hmmm... Samford took apart Shorter as expected, and Kennesaw gave Georgia State all they could handle but Panthers coming back to win 24-20.

Off-topic, but 4 of the top-25 have already lost. JSU (but to another top-25 NC A&T team), Kennesaw (but to an FBS team), New Hampshire, and Delaware (that is 2 from the CAA).
With wins, Samford and (assuming) Wofford will move up. Not sure how Furman will be treated in the polls given who the play. To bad WCU or some other SoCon teams weren't up there in "others receiving votes" because this could be a weekend to jump into the top-25.
