Glad to see Furman at 0-2. Could not happen to a nicer bunch. Hopefully their losing with continue. I hope Colgate tears them a new one. The problem with that line of thinking is that without any decent OOC wins, 7 and even 8-win SoCon teams who lose 3 league games will be borderline or even left out of the playoffs unless they beat or play an FBS school really close. So far, OOC for the SoCon against other FCS teams: Citadel - have CSU this weekend and Towson later - I'll guess 1-1 Chattanooga - beat Tn Tech and have UT-Martin this weekend - I hope 2-0 ETSU - have GWU later - should be 1-0 Furman - lost to Elon in ugly fashion and have Colgate this weekend - could be 0-2 Mercer - beat Jacksonville and have Yale later - could be 2-0 Samford - have Kennesaw State later - could be 0-1 VMI - don't play any OOC FCS teams Wofford - have GWU and Presby later - should be 2-0 WCU - play GWU this weekend - should be 1-0 The only really good win for the whole conference would be if Samford could beat KSU again. The next best possible wins would be Furman over Colgate or Mercer over Yale. Then you have UTC's two games, 3 of us playing GWU, etc. We are quickly falling into no better than the 4th best conference in FCS because we aren't scheduling as many good teams AND we aren't beating all of the ones that are on the schedule. Doesn't matter that many SoCon fans think the the league is good - nationally there aren't many data points to prove how good we are relative to other good teams/conferences.
