Week three is in the books, and now it's time to look for week #4 games. Week four has a full slate of conference games, with Wofford having the week off to recover from that close loss to Wyoming. There are a couple interesting match-ups this week.
This week's games:
VMI @ Western Carolina The Citadel @ Mercer Samford @ Chattanooga Furman @ ETSU Wofford - Bye

VMI @ Western Carolina Western Carolina
The Citadel @ Mercer Mercer
Samford @ Chattanooga Chattanooga
Furman @ ETSU ETSU
Wofford - Bye
These predictions are eye-openers if they come to fruition. I wouldn’t have guessed Mercer, Chattanooga, Wofford, ETSU all 2-0 with Samford being 0-2 and Citadel being 0-3 end of week 4.

VMI @ Western Carolina - here's hoping the Cats don't stumble
The Citadel @ Mercer - the bulldogs put up a good fight, but the bears are too strong at home
Samford @ Chattanooga - Mocs are at home and have beat 3 teams that don't have a win between them - dogs roll
Furman @ ETSU - Paladins try to put those first two butt-kickings behind them
Wofford - Bye - the short haired dogs pull it out in the last 30 seconds

First full week of SoCon play, so really the first time we get a relatively comparable view of all the teams. Power Rankings ***should*** get more realistic after this week and next. VMI @ Western CarolinaThe Keydets proved last week you have to show up and play, and they threw the ball 60 times (where our pass D has not been what I expected so far). I still think we will have too much offense for them to keep up, and I also hope the D we saw in the second half on Friday is what we will see going forward. Pretty or not, if we are 3-0 we will be where we all hoped we would. The Citadel @ MercerSimilar to the Samford team they just beat, the Bears have had a history of at least one stinker game every year. Was it against Memphis this year, or will they struggle again? I think they have answered the QB question, and they have already faced the triple option once this year. Citadel has some good players, and I think they put up a good fight but fade down the stretch. In my opinion, the loss will end any chance Citadel has at the playoffs after only playing 3 games. Samford @ Chattanooga As mentioned above, the Bulldogs have at least 1 annual head-scratcher. I don't know if the Mercer game was that, as the better team on Saturday won the game. But I think the Mocs are a bit of a paper tiger with their schedule (same could probably be said for the Cats), and I think Samford will come out with something to prove. Furman @ ETSU I think FU is going to take out the frustrations of two poor performances on the Bucs (who easily could have lost to VMI). Wofford - Bye The Terriers will find themselves tied for 1st place in the SoCon with a win by Mercer

VMI @ Western Carolina - Keydets play us tough (as usual), but we pull it out - 31-24 The Citadel @ Mercer - Mercer showed guts last weekend, and I think they keep the mo' - 24-17 Samford @ Chattanooga - Bulldogs are pissed and they take it out on an overconfident UTC - 38-20 Furman @ ETSU - Face it - Furman is better than ETSU - not sure how much - but they win - 21-10 Wofford - Bye - Terriers take last minute win in another close one -

VMI @ Western Carolina ---- a focused WCU team finally puts a complete game together at home
The Citadel @ Mercer ---- a pick 'em game......Mercer has started hot, but Citadel's ground attack gashes the Bears D. Samford @ Chattanooga ---- game of the week, and another pick 'em game..........is Chatt for real this year, after a 3-0 start? Furman @ ETSU ---- Furman should be the better team, but the sophomore slump continues for FU
