Only Wofford and ETSU made the playoffs, Furman was left out, while the CAA received 6 bids. The conference needs to win more of their out of conference games and not play any D2 teams. If we would do that, the more teams would make the playoffs. I don't think the CAA deserves 6 bids but they obviously have some sort of insider that helps them along. It used to be the SoCon was considered the SEC of FCS football but those days are gone.

Very weird year on the "bubble" - 7 of the 16 first round teams have 7 or fewer wins (5 are 7-4, 2 are 6-4 due to cancelled games, and one is 6-5). So much for the myth everybody always had about needing 7 DI wins. I think Wofford has a good shot to make it to the quarterfinals against Elon (several injured players and have lost 3 of their last 4 or 5) and KSU (the Terriers should know the triple option). I also think the winner of ETSU @ Jacksonville State will have an excellent shot at beating Maine and getting to the quarterfinals.
For the SoCon, it would be really good if both could win at least 1 game.
