Just in case someone is interested.....
North Carolina: Mack Brown’s deal at North Carolina is 5 years at $3.5 million per year ($750,000 base, $2 million additional from UNC, $700,000 from Nike & Learfield combined).

I guess Charlotte will just keep looking since Houston thinks there is a better offer out there.

One of the other rumors I have seen is since Brohm turned down Louisville to stay at Purdue, Satterfield goes to Louisville and Houston could be up for the App job. That might be the more attractive position if he honestly wants to be closer to home (Franklin, NC) and if he wants to be at a place he can win day one (App is on the verge of averaging 10 wins per year over the past 4 years).
But given his track record, I am not sure that Houston is honest in much of what he says about jobs. It would appear he will jump for the biggest paycheck at whatever school is perceived the biggest job. That would be ECU as part of the American Athletic Conference between these 3 teams, although I would still argue right now App is a better football job.
And I am not calling him out - that is the path most coaches take when they have the opportunity to move up until they get to the Power 5 level.

Let me get this straight, you would pick App State over ECU? Going to App State is almost moving backward from JMU, IMHO there is no comparison between the ECU and ASU jobs. Charlotte would be a better job than App State.

Charlotte would be a better job than App State. I think that if he wants to win now App is the better job of the 3. I think in the long run ECU followed by Charlotte are the best 2 jobs. ECU and Charlotte are in better conferences and they are in bigger markets. App will be allot like Marshall. Always a decent team but never a powerhouse. Conference USA did not want them because their market is too small for a larger conference. Not saying anything disrespectful to App. I think they have overachieved but they are about as good as they will ever be in the long run. ECU is good every 3 or 4 years but they are arguably in the best non-Power5 conference in the country and they have more of a football tradition that App State or UNCC who just started. I think in 20 years UNCC will blow past App and be at least as good as ECU. UNCC is in the largest city in the Carolina's and has built in advantages over Boone or Greenville.
