So I know Delvin Hodges from Samford is a great talent, but does he deserve 1st team All-SoCon before Tyrie? I believe Hodges numbers were 4,000+ yards passing, 70% completion percentage, 32 TD's and 16 INT's
Tyrie was 1 of only 10 players in FCS history to have 2,000+ yards passing and 1,000+ yards rushing in a single season, and yet he isn't 1st team all conference?
Perhaps the overall win/loss record dictated the award??

Hodges also set the FCS all-time passing record (surpassing the late Steve McNair). He will finish ahead of Tyrie in the Payton Award, too. No shame in that - Tyrie had an incredible statistical season but so did Hodges.

The major issue I have with Hodges winning the award is the number of INTs he threw.

This kid is a special player. Just a Freshman. Made some mistakes but he will be much improved next year. I think the Cats will have one of the best if not the best defenses in the SoCon next year.
