Us and ETSU should benefit from this if we know what we are doing. I would say that any kid that we were in the running for that was going to sign with UTC might consider us again. Now is the absolute worst time for a coach to quit.

I agree it is a tough time given the early signing period, but the end of the season is when jobs typically come open. I’m not really sure why the NCAA went away from having the “official” signing day in February. They still do, but I thought I read that 70% of kids signed in the December period last year. That is a very tight window, and is even tougher on teams still preparing for a bowl or playing in the playoffs.
As for Arth leaving, he is probably getting 3 times more money to move basically back home. Hard to blame him there. Honestly I don’t know how good of a coach he is - with the players UTC had his 9 wins in his 2 seasons there wouldn’t have inspired me as an FBS team to move him “up”. But according to the Mocs board in the past, Arth is a master at winning the press conference (so he is probably very good in interviews, too). And he is probably a good recruiter, is young, from the area, etc.
