JT Poston rolls in 49-footer for birdie at Sony Open

J.T. Poston hit 12 of 18 greens in regulation during his second round at the Sony Open in Hawaii, finishing at 6 under for the tournament. Poston finished his round tied for 12th at 6 under; Matt Kuchar is in 1st at 14 under; Andrew Putnam is in 2nd at 12 under; and Chez Reavie and Stewart Cink are tied for 3rd at 10 under.
After a drive to the right side of the fairway on the 423-yard par-4 second hole, Poston had a 136 yard approach shot, setting himself up for the birdie. This moved Poston to 1 under for the round.
On the par-4 fifth, Poston's 126 yard approach to 6 feet set himself up for the birdie on the hole. This moved Poston to 2 under for the round.
Poston hit his tee at the green on the 176-yard par-3 seventh, setting himself up for a long 49-foot birdie putt, which he converted. This moved Poston to 3 under for the round.
After hitting his tee shot into the fairway bunker, Poston hit his next to the right side of the fairway and reached the green on his third shot, rolling a two-putt bogey on the 351-yard par-4 10th. This moved Poston to 2 under for the round.
After a drive to the right side of the fairway on the 430-yard par-4 14th hole, Poston had a 135 yard approach shot, setting himself up for the birdie. This moved Poston to 3 under for the round.
On the par-4 15th, Poston's 137 yard approach to 4 feet set himself up for the birdie on the hole. This moved Poston to 4 under for the round.
Poston's tee shot went 183 yards to the left greenside bunker and his bunker shot went 18 yards to the green where he had a two-putt for bogey on the 194-yard par-3 17th. This moved Poston to 3 under for the round.
On the 551-yard par-5 18th, Poston had a birdie after hitting the green in 2 and two putting. This moved Poston to 4 under for the round.

He collected $80,000 for the week end. Nice start for the PGA season.

He’s currently 51st in the fedex cup points. Obviously very early, but I like the fact he’s playing early, scoring well and scoring points.

J.T. Poston shoots 3-under 69 in round three of the Farmers Insurance Open
In his third round at the Farmers Insurance Open, J.T. Poston hit 8 of 14 fairways and 9 of 18 greens in regulation, finishing at 7 under for the tournament. Poston finished his day tied for 25th at 7 under Justin Rose is in 1st at 18 under, Adam Scott is in 2nd at 15 under, and Jon Rahm is in 3rd at 14 under.
