A little projecting going on, but if Wofford goes 7-4/6-2 in conference with losses to Clemson and Furman in the next couple of weeks, do they get into the playoffs? Even if the Paladins lose to Wofford, they are probably in with an 8-4/6-2 record and because they have stayed relatively safe in the rankings. But does Wofford have to beat Furman to get in?
Of the other schools with a real outside chance at a playoff spot, I think only the Citadel could make it. But that would mean they beat Wofford and UTC - ruining either of their chances. Tough OT loss for Chatty to the Terriers on Saturday - they would have to win out and beat both Furman and Citadel (again hurting those team's chances).
Seems like a 2-team league at best this year, and could even only be the champion if there is chaos in the games involving Wofford, Citadel, and Chatt. With those rankings, Furman would seem like the only true safe bet right now.
