Monday's recap.... Mon, Dec 02 - not a good day for the SoCon with a 1-2 record today in OOC games
Mercer vs. Holy Cross in Boca Raton, Fla. Holy Cross freshman Joe Pridgen scored a season-high 21 points as the Crusaders ended its season-opening seven-game losing streak, beating Mercer 81-67 in the Boca Raton Beach Classic. Austin Butler added 17 points and 11 rebounds for coach Brett Nelson first victory.
Furman at South Florida in Tampa, Fla. Furman dropped a ten-point loss to South Florida, 55-65 in Tampa. The Bulls ended a two-game slide, while the Paladin ended a three-game win streak. Sophomore Noah Gurley led the scoring for Furman with 19 points, the game-high.
North Carolina Central at Wofford The one bright spot for the SoCon on Monday was Wofford's 77-59 win over NC Central. Senior Nathan Hooper led the Terriers with 18 points. NCCU pulled within one point, 57-58 with about 6 minutes left in the game, but the Terriers went on a 20-1 point run the final 6 minutes to extend their win streak to two games.

Tue, Dec 03 - a recap of today's action (SoCon goes 2-0 today)
Chattanooga at Western Carolina Mason Faulkner scored a game-high 31 points for the Catamounts in their 87-77 win in the SoCon opener for both teams. Senior Carlos Dotson's double/double of 21 points, on 10-of-11 shooting, and 12 rebounds contributed significantly to the Catamount win. The Catamounts outrebounded Chattanooga 39-25 to overcome their 14 turnovers in the Cat's fourth straight win of the young season.
Auburn Montgomery at Samford Samford's Josh Sharkey matched his career-high of 27 points as the Bulldogs rolled over Division II Auburn-Montgomery 97-64. Sharkey made 11 of 13 foul shots and added nine assists, seven steals, & six rebounds. Samford put up 61 points in the second half, which is a season-high for the Bulldogs.

Wed, Dec 04 recap for today - (SoCon goes 2-1 today)
Kennesaw State at UNCG The Spartan's Isaiah Miller scored 25 points to lead UNCG past Kennesaw State 72-54 in Greensboro, NC. UNCG outscored the Owls 38-26 in the second half on their way to the win, and 7-2 overall record. The Owls are winless this season, and dropped to 0-7.
ETSU at The Citadel In the third conference game of the season, the Bucs traveled to Charleston, SC to pick up their first conference win of the season over the Citadel, 96-84. The Bucs led by 10 at the half, and never looked back as they maintained that lead the entire second half. Jeromy Rodriguez led the Bucs with 26 points and 15 rebounds.
VMI at Duquesne Michael Hughes had a career-high 23 points plus 11 rebounds as Duquesne won its seventh consecutive game to open the season, beating VMI 71-58 on Wednesday night. Travis Evee scored a season-high 26 points for the Keydets, while Garrett Gilkeson added 12 points. In was was a pretty close game the first half, Duquesne out scored the Keydets 47-28 in the second, picked up their 7th win of the season.

Thursday, December 05, 2019 - today's recap - only one game on Thursday
Furman at Auburn Auburn's Christian Okoro scored a season-high 18 points to lift #14 Auburn to an 81-78, overtime victory over Furman. The Tigers rallied from a 14-point second-half deficit to remain unbeaten on the season. Noah Gurley led Furman with 21 points and eight rebounds before fouling out with 2:31 left in overtime. Clay Mounce added 14 points before also fouling out.

Sat, Dec 7, 2019 - recap of Saturday's games. Another good day for the SoCon, 6-2 record today.
UNC Asheville at Western Carolina In the day's SoCon Game of the Week, Carlos Dotson scored 16 points and put up 11 rebounds to lead five Catamounts in double figures as the Cats edged past UNC Asheville, 78-77. Mason Faulkner’s free throw with 4.3 seconds remaining in the game, broke a 77-all tie as Western Carolina won its fifth straight game in front of a raucous crowd Saturday at the Ramsey Center. With the victory, the Cats have won all five of their games at home. DeVon Baker had 18 points for the Bulldogs, Lavar Batts Jr. 17 and Tajion Jones 13.
Carver College at The Citadel The Bulldogs rolled over NCCAA's Carver College Cougars, 108-40. Seven Bulldog players finished in double figures Saturday afternoon as The Citadel basketball team blasted to a 108-40 victory over Carver.
Stetson at VMI VMI's Travis Evee, scored 18 points on 5-of-9 shooting from 3-point range as theKeydets beat Stetson 88-61 on Saturday. Coming off the bench, Evee was 6 of 10 overall and led the Keydets who were 30 of 55 (54.5%) and 18 of 38 (47.4%) from 3-point range.
UNCG at Radford The Spartans' Isaiah Miller posted a career-high 27 points as UNCG defeated Radford 60-58 on Saturday night. The Spartans took the lead for good with six minutes left in the first half and led 60-53 when Angelo Allegri made a 3-pointer with 2:41 remaining. Kyrin Galloway had 12 points for Greensboro, which earned its fifth consecutive win (8-2).
Georgia State at Mercer Mercer put up only 18 points in the first half, a season low for the team as the Cougars won its fifth straight game, 73-61 over the Bears. Victor Bafutto had 14 points for the Bears (4-6), who have now lost four games in a row. Djordje Dimitrijevic added 14 points. Ethan Stair had 13 points and eight rebounds.
Gardner-Webb at Wofford The Terriers led the entire second half but their lead was cut down to one point with 4:50 remaining. The Terriers pushed their lead back to six before Gardner-Webb's Lance Terry hit a 3-pointer to make it 80-77 with 16 seconds remaining. After Hollowell made one of two free throws for a four-point Wofford lead, Jose Perez and Terry missed 3-pointers for Gardner-Webb and the clock ran out. Messiah Jones had 18 points, Tray Hollowell and Storm Murphy scored 16 each, and Wofford won, 81-77.
ETSU at North Dakota State The Bucs put up only 25 first-half points, a season low for the team from which they never recovered, as ND State won, 78-68. Bo Hodges scored a season-high 23 points for the Bucs who dropped to 8-2 on the season, as their five-game win streak was broken. Tray Boyd III added 18 points. Daivien Williamson had 16 points.
Samford at Houston Baptist The Bulldogs' Jalen Dupree scored 23 points to lead Samford over Houston Baptist 113-90 on Saturday. Brandon Austin added 21 points and nine rebounds for the Bulldogs which shot 37 of 57 (65%) including 13 of 21 (62%) from beyond the 3-point arc. Jalon Gates made a 3 with 14:29 to go and Houston Baptist was within 67-64. Samford went on a 13-4 run and led by double digits the rest of the way. Gates led the Huskies with 20 points. The Huskies own a nine-game losing streak with their last win occurred March 6, 2019 over Incarnate Word.
