What do the baseball experts on the board think about the bat cats chances this year? Do we rebound somewhat or will it be more of the same? I personally do not know enough to guess.

Right now it is hard to evaluate the team & its potential. However, there is one thing that should concern all of us and that is the fact that Coach Mo has no Assistant Coaches. I still think the Pitching Staff overall will be weak, hitting will suffer with the departure of Garcia and the overall coaching will be suspect. However, I’ll have an opportunity to watch the Cats play in Myrtle Beach in February. That will give me a better idea of the team’s potential for 2020. I know we have a Pitching Coach but all of us got to witness his incompetence last season. I just hope Coach Mo does not destroy the 2020 Team & especially the Pitching Staff. I’m basing my concerns about Coaching on my observations of Coach Mo over the past 2 seasons. He just never came across to me as a Coach that was focused & had a fire in his belly to live up to the Baseball Traditions established by previous Catamount Teams.

With a new Chancellor and new AD to be named in March, if we do not see a major turn around this year coach Miranda will be gone at the end of the season.

I’m just puzzled that Coach Mo has taken a strong Baseball Program to the bottom of the SoCon the past 2 years. I have lost confidence in him & his ability to turn things around.

He is the assistant coach for varsity for now. The head varsity coach is retiring in a year or two and then he will take over the varsity.

Great & I know he will be an outstanding young coach at Eastern. Hope your boys have a great year for the Cats. When I was at Williams I got to watch your boys perform. All 3 of your sons were outstanding baseball players. I hope the team will be the top team in the SoCon but I’m concerned about not having Garcia around to handle the hitters. The Pitching Coach was on one of the Catamount Teams that Coach Mo took on the Pitching Coach duties. I remember a number of the Pitchers came down with arm troubles under his tutelage. Altering throwing motions & requiring the pitchers to throw an excessive amount of breaking pitches. In fact Taylor Sandefur was on that team. He was a power pitcher & his fast ball was in the mid 90s. He hurt his arm & was not able to throw because of the Coaching. I remember well how the parents were complaining about how he was coaching their boys.
