They have 4 committed to D1 schools and at least 7 more who are FCS caliber this coming year.

Don't forget about the Alamance and Guilford county schools heck even Bartlett Yancey (and no I'm not just trying to shout out my High School) has Jacob scales a senior 5'10 175lb running back who had 1,478 rushing yards, 5.8 yards per average and 46.2 rushing yards per game with 27 Touchdowns in his career he has a offer from UNC this kid Michael Slade a 5'9 165lb junior running back who ran for 1,144 yards, 9.0 yards per average, 127.1 yards per game in his first year playing football and they also have my little cousin Miles a 6'3 207lb junior Defensive End who has 188 tackles, 8.2 tackles per game , 22.0 sacks in his career who has offers from South Carolina, Wake Forest and Coastal Carolina. Even Cummings and Person High Schools has some good players who go D1 from time to time.

Come on guys, kids that are getting offers from Power 5 schools are not going to come to Cullowhee, when they can go to Chapel Hill, Knoxville, or Athens, GA.
I also have my doubts that kids being heavily recruited by the "Group of 5" schools will select Cullowhee. We are competing for the kids that are also being recruited by other FCS schools. When the kids make visits and compare facilities to the likes of Furman, ETSU, Wofford, Mercer, Chattanooga, etc., Western is already at a major disadvantage.
It's no need to throw around all those names that are being recruited by big names schools, those kids are not going to select WCU over Duke, Carolina, Georgia Tech, UGA or Tennessee, or probably even ASU or GSU.

Exactly. I find it hilarious when I talk to people who are saying we should have gotten “x” kid. When I hear the kid is playing at an acc school or something I can’t help but laugh.

Wofford gets good recruits why??
They have established themselves as a winner
You must be successful to get the recruits you need or
You get the bottom level talent
We beat the doors off Wofford during early 80's
WE WILL NOT GET KIDS BEING OFFERED BY MULTIPLE D1 SCHOOLS
UNLESS THERE IS A SKELETON IN THE CLOSET WHICH HAPPENS

We had kids who took pwos that would have taken a scholarship at WCU. They decided to take the pwo at Power 5 or Group of 5 vs nothing. All but 1 worked into scholarship and several started. There were 2 starters at App State last year that came in as pwos. One from Reidsville and one from Rockingham Co. Both would have been impact players at WCU. Not even a pwo offer.

Today, Western Carolina offered Joshua Burrell, a 3 or 4 star (depending on the service) wide receiver from Blythewood, SC. That would be a good pickup for the Cats. The only problem with this offer is that he already has offers from Florida State, Ga Tech, Louisville, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Arkansas, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, Duke, East Carolina, Georgia State, Indiana, Kansas State, NC State, Nebraska, Northwestern, Penn State, Rutgers, Syracuse, Temple, University of South Florida, Virginia, Wake Forest, West Virginia, and App State. He's still well over a year away from graduation (2021). Is this the players you guys think the coaching staff at WCU should be going after? I'm sure their time was well spent on this kid.
