What fool told you Speir is building a million dollar house. I know for sure Bear Lake Reserve was an issue for his family as they traveled daily for work and school. Unless my calculations are way off, no one would be able to get a million dollar mortgage even at his salary. Rumors will drive you crazy especially that are personal, so stay in another lane. If he doesn't get the team to perform, the new AD and Chancellor will make the right decision.

Dont want to hear "we are young" "we had a lot of guys hurt" "we are getting better" Get ready and be prepared to go the EKU , please don't be like last year when Mercer had a track meet in Cullowhee.

You are correct. It was obvious that Mercer spent months preparing and we spent the last week of fall practice preparing. If you do not win the first one, you have no momentum and in a hole.

2 minutes into the Mercer game and felt i had wasted my money on 4 season tickets. Without a doubt that game showed who was prepared and who was just now thinking about looking at the idea that maybe they should start to consider getting prepared.

He’s making over 200k, he can get a mortgage for $1,000,000.00 if he wanted to. Roughly 5,000 a month with a small down payment (50,000). Bump the down payment up to 100k or 200k and that’s a very doable payment when making 200k per year. I know people with bigger mortgages making less money.

Anyone making less than $200K/year with a "bigger" mortgage than what you describe simply lost their minds or have family money they are sitting on. We make well over $200K/year and never borrowed for a home purchase more than $180K. Never understood why folks have to feel like they need a McMansion to live in. I get it, real estate can be a good investment but leveraging yourself to the very limits of what a bank (who has very liberal underwriting guidelines) will let you borrow is down right dumb. Going back to Speir, it seems as if he would only build such a nice home in the area if he's willing to either live or vacation in the area for the rest of his life, regardless of whether or not he's our head coach. If so, then let him spend HIS money how HE wants. He's doing nothing wrong. He's spending his contract salary how he sees fit. If we don't like it, then WCU needs to be influenced to fire him. Again, this whole conversation about Speir and a possible mountain home is all pure speculation.

Speir does want to live in Cullowhee for the long term coaching or not. I know that for a fact. Whether that happens or not is to be seen.
