The NCAA’s Division I Council will announce that its ban on in-person activities, which expires May 31, will not be extended, clearing the way for players to conduct voluntary on-campus workouts as soon as June 1, according to a report Wednesday from Yahoo‘s Pete Thamel.
The NCAA’s announcement does not guarantee that all college football players can or will return, as players will still be subject to conference, school, or state restrictions. But an NCAA decision will be a symbolic one, opening the floodgates for conferences to follow suit in the near future.
