The lower campus residence halls have been named by WCU’s Board of Trustees! The three separate residence halls will be called Water Rock Hall, Shining Rock Hall and Black Rock Hall. The buildings are set to be complete in fall 2022 and spring 2023. Water Rock Hall is named after Waterrock Knob, which is one of the highest points on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Black Rock Hall is named after Blackrock Mountain, which is part of the Plott Balsams. Shining Rock Hall is named after Shining Rock Mountain, which is part of the Great Balsam Mountains. www.wcu.edu/stories/posts/News/2021/11/wcu-board-of-trustees-names-three-lower-campus-residence-halls.aspx

I love all three of those names! A nice nod to the beautiful surrounding mountains that are the backdrop of campus and Sylva area. Well done!

I like the idea too! We just need to make sure that the highest of the three peaks is assigned to the five story building and not one of the four story…..
