App now has more NCAA appearances than us. They are going to the big dance. SO they really have surpassed us. They have two winning money teams and we are a dumpster fire

Yes, anything that Appy state is successful in, makes me sick. However, their leadership certainly knows how to play the game when it come to funding athletics.
Their current athletic budget is $37,773,447.00 and Western Carolina's athletic budget is roughly 1/3 of that, pretty sad.

I can assure you, no one in any type of leadership position at Western Carolina is ashamed of athletics at the university. To most, it's a necessary evil that should have funding reduced, not enlarged. |

I wouldn’t be so quick to assume their hoops team has now reached the stature of their football program though. |

The sunbelt is so respected in basketball that Appy State is in the play-in round vs. Norfolk State on truTV, that's below a #16 seed for an automatic qualifier.
But, yeah, they are at least in.

Even if we made it in we would not be in the running for the title just like App State is not going to win the whole thing but at least they have a sunbelt title.
