Western Carolina softball claimed two of the top annual honors today as the Southern Conference released its 2021 postseason awards. Junior Bailey Huneycutt was named the SoCon Player of the Year and head coach Jim Clift was tabbed Coach of the Year by his peers as a combined six Catamounts were recognized ahead of this week's conference tournament. In addition to earning the league's top player honor, Huneycutt was dubbed first-team All-SoCon at shortstop and was joined on the first team by pitcher Jayme Eilers and catcher Kailey McNeil. Eilers also received SoCon All-Freshman team accolades along with fellow pitcher Savannah Rice and outfielder Jeralynn Wells.
