We go ahead in the eighth, but Citadel ties it with an unearned run. Their guy struck out with two out, but was safe at first. We may need some help today if this is how things are gonna go.

I am not sure how much love we are supposed to spread for "clinching" the 4th best winning percentage in the conference. But at least we are in and now have a chance!

I am not saying I am underwhelmed, but I am saying there would appear to be a pretty big difference in the top-3 teams and then the logjam of the guys like us who were trying to clinch that 4th spot. As I said, we are in. And you can't win if you are not there.
Now the what-ifs start going. There is still a lot to be figured out on who the #1 seed will be, and from what was posted the divisions don't really mean anything now - the best winning percentage will play the worst, and then the other 2 teams will play. It is really tight between the top 3, and 2 of the teams are playing each other. My gut tells me Mercer splits these last 2 with Wofford and they are the #1 seed and our opponent with a record of 19-8 (.704 conference winning percentage) vs Samford waking up and winning both remaining games against ETSU to finish 21-9 (.700).
EDIT: I just checked and Wofford is handling Mercer right now, so if Wofford holds on and wins the next one they will be the #1 seed. Samford lost again to ETSU so I don't think they can be #1 now. It would appear that game 3 of the Mercer vs Wofford series is for the regular season title (I assume the #1 seed is the conference champ???).
