Bell's base pay is better. Lamb's incentives look higher. I'd say all-in-all they are relatively close, but Bell has more guaranteed money.
Base pay of $262,500 (I have found other mentions when searching that he made more than $300k as the head coach of Jacksonville and as the OC at USF) $7200/year car allowance $720/year mobile phone allowance $20k for moving expenses Several different $1k bonuses for how the team does academically (3.1 GPA, NCAA GSR > 90%, NCAA APP > 985, etc.) $5k for winning the SOCON $1k for being SOCON Coach of the Year $2k for a playoff bid $2k for reaching the 2nd round $3k for reaching the quarterfinals $4k for reaching the semis $5k for reaching the championship $25k for winning the FCS championship Max incentive pay is capped at $51k in any given year $7500 for 7 or more wins in year 1 $7500 for 8 wins in years 2, 3, 4, and 5 $10k for any 9+ win season
The contract also shows that he was allocated a total of $725,000 as the salary pool to hire his staff. That number is reviewed annually.
There is also this clause in the contract:
