After nearly a month between events the Western Carolina cross country teams return to action on Saturday morning, heading to the Alexander/Asics Invitational at Chattahoochee Hills Eventing in Fairburn, Ga. The men's 8K race is scheduled for 8 a.m. followed by the women's 5K race an hour later. A longtime high school meet, this is the first year that the Alexander/Asics Invitational has featured collegiate races. Live results for the meet will be available via a link on catamountsports.com. "We're looking forward to this weekend's competition after a solid month of training," said head coach Jesse Norman. "We're rounding into shape and are coming off a great workout last week that gave the team a bunch of confidence. It's time to take advantage of our fitness, the competition, and the course to put down some good performances."

Justin Hayes with a 25:35.25 and 6th overall, and Kate Mattison with a 18:08.79 and a 5th place in that field is damn strong. Great job Cats.
