In game #1 of the tournament, the number 9 seed (The Citadel) beat the number 8 seed (ETSU) by a final score of 84-76. While the Bucs go home early, the Bulldogs hang around for another day to face the number 1 seed (Chattanooga) on Saturday at 12 pm.
Here's hoping the trend continues of the lower seed beating the hight seed in tonights game #2.

In game number 2, the #10 Catamounts faced the #7 Mercer bears in the night cap of the opening night. The Bears dominated the game, winning 81-53. The Bears go on to face the second seed Furman Paladins in game #5 on Saturday afternoon starting at 6 pm.
Saturday's games tip off at noon, with the Citadel facing the Chattanooga Mocs.

In game #3, number 1 seeded Chattanooga knocked off number 9 seed The Citadel, 71-66. While the Bulldogs go home, the Mocs prepare to play on Sunday at 4 pm.

In game #4, it was seed #4 vs. seed #5, and ended in a closely contested game as expected. Wofford (#4) beat VMI (#5) by a final 2 point margin, 68-66. While the Keydets also return home, the Terriers prepare to play on Sunday at 4pm against the #1 seed Chattanooga Mocs.

In game #5, number 2 seed Furman man handled seed number 7 Mercer, by a final score of 80-66. As the Bears head back to Macon, Furman prepares to play in the semi-finals on Sunday, at 6:30 pm.

In game #6, number 3 Samford played number 6 seed UNCG. In another close battle, the Bulldogs pulled it out to defeat the Spartans with a 66-64 win. While the Spartans return to Greensboro, the Bulldogs prepare to play #2 seed Furman in the 6:30 game on Sunday evening.
The semifinals look like this:
No. 1 Chattanooga vs. No. 4 Wofford
No. 2 Furman vs. No. 3 Samford

That was a helluva championship game. It got out to a fugly start, it but turned into a barnburner. Hope the Cats can get back to the final night again.

I watched the whole thing; loved it! My hatred of Furman has ratcheted back up to its 80’s form this year. I hope their NCAA tourney drought lasts ANOTHER 42 years. Best of all, their coach will be gone in four or five weeks.
