Just like the softball team was swept by Samford, baseball gets the same treatment from ETSU. What is wrong with WCU sports? We don't seem to be competitive in any sport. Yeah, we pick up a win here and there, but we can't even sniff at a conference championship in any sport, football included.
Can anyone even remember the last SoCon championship in any sport? The athletic program needs to move in a new direction.

The Cats play Asheville at their place on Tuesday. Western has lost 8 of the last 9 in the series, and are riding a 3 game losing skid vs. UNCA. The Bulldogs won in Cullowhee on March 22 by a final score of 5-1.
I don't see a win on Tuesday for the Cats.

Why would anyone want to get rid of Alex Gary? He fired Coach Speir who needed firing and has hired 2 coaches Mens Basketball and Football who have not been around long enough to know if they will be successful or not. The first 2 years of his tenure have been during Covid and he has convinced the Chancellor to commit $60 million to athletics. As far as firing Moranda goes, his team played in the conference tournament championship game in 2021 and he has had teams win the regular season and the conference tournament in his tenure. He is also the winningest coach in Western’s baseball history. With the subpar facilities and recruiting budget, he has done a great job in his tenure. If we fired Moranda who would we get who is better to be our coach? I don’t think there is an A list of college baseball coaches lined up for the Western job. You might get a young assistant or a washed up head coach, but I think we would be hard pressed to find a coach that is a better fit for Western.
