Two things need to happen for the SoCon to gain back some of the respect it lost with the departure of ASU & GSU. #1 - stop scheduling non-DI teams (we have 4 nonDI games scheduled) and #2 - win the majority, if not most, of the out of conference FCS games we schedule.
The SoCon has 14 FCS games in 2022 - how many and who can we beat?
2022 SoCon OOC FCS Games
Aug 27 Mercer vs. Morehead State
Sep 1 The Citadel at Campbell Samford vs. Kennesaw State
Sep 3 Western Carolina at Charleston Southern
Sep 10 Chattanooga at Eastern Illinois VMI vs. Bucknell Wofford vs. Elon
Sept 17 Samford at Tenn Tech Chattanooga vs. North Alabama Western Carolina vs. Presbyterian
Sep 24 ETSU at Robert Morris Furman at Charleston Southern Mercer at Gardner-Webb Wofford at Kennesaw State

FWIW, I come up with a 9-5 tally with us winning each of ours.

One way would be to schedule and beat the same teams that the top of the MVFC, Big Sky and CAA Football have on their schedule.
Schedule and beat the the middle to lower end of the MVFC, Big Sky, and CAA. We don't have to play the top teams in those conferences (they don't play each other), just beat the Illinoise States, Western Illinoises, Youngstown States, Southern Utahs, Idaho States, Cal Polies, Northern Colorados, Albanys, New Hampshires, Towsons, and Delawares of those conferences.
How can folks then put down the SoCon when we play and beat the same teams the tops of the MCFC, Big Sky, & CAAFootball play and beat every year for their top 25 rankings?
