That helps CUSA. This puts them in the Atlanta media market.

Here's a more detailed story: www.mdjonline.com/cobb_football_friday/ksu-to-consider-new-conference-reportedly-eyeing-leap-to-fbs/article_b09ed772-4681-11ed-a426-9b618bd4f9f0.htmlThey only have a capacity of a little over 9,000 at 5/3 Bank Stadium (or as the locals call it, "The Fraction"). And they rarely fill it. Only home game so far this year was Wofford with not even 8,000 tix sold. They didn't even average 7,000 last year. This with a student enrollment of over 40,000. They are 1-3 so far this year, but they may start winning as the next four teams they face have won a TOTAL of four games, before the Owls end the year with a tougher schedule - UT-Martin, Austin Peay and EKU. Point of trivia: Assuming they end up in the C-USA, there will be two teams with Owls mascot as FAU also carries that name.

They will have to enlarge their stadium if the move up. There are rules about stadium size and attendance.

As in all cases, the tickets sold are what counts here - even though I don't like it. My oldest graduated from FAU while they were in CUSA and even in 2 seasons where they won 11 games and went to (and won) bowls, I don't really recall more than about 12k or so butts in seats other than at the very first game Lane Kiffen coached (they had a legit 30k at that one). But every game we went to, they would announce a "paid attendance" of 20k or more.
KSU will have to enlarge the stadium (or move somewhere else), but all they really hav to do is get a bump in tickets sold that might come along with being an FBS instead of an FCS team. My bet is more businesses will probably invest in some tickets to give away to help a little. I don't know if the student turnout will be any better just because they are FBS - most students won't really care any more about the teams who would be coming in, and other than JSU I am not sure many CUSA teams travel well at all now that Marshall moved on. The Herd was the only team to ever bring many people to FAU other than when UCF came to Boca.
