FINAL | Catamounts fall on the road to UNC Asheville 64-51. WCU returns home Thursday hosting Queens in its annual noon Education Day game on Ingles Court in the Ramsey Center. Does anyone think that our Women’s basketball team can eventually be competitive again? We hired a good coach with a successful resume as a head coach but he comes to Western and so far has laid an egg. I am not sure that the problem is coaching. Is it hard to get D1 caliber recruits because of our location? Is it funding? Again, besides Kelly, no one has been able to make it work. We are on a path of eventually firing our current coach and starting over again. Is that the real answer. The guy we have was successful before he came to Western. Are we just cursed? I would settle for being mid-pack in the SoCon with a break even record every year. Does anyone have any idea what is going on and what should be done besides blaming it all on the Coach and starting over. We have already tried that several times and it never works.
