Western Carolina freshman Noah Straley and junior Nytrinitey Jenkins were honored Wednesday as the Southern Conference Men's and Women's Track Runners of the Week as the league announced its weekly winners. Both Straley and Jenkins win the honor for the first time in their collegiate careers.
At the South Carolina Invitational last weekend, Straley took third in the long jump with a leap of 7.29 meters, which leads the SoCon this season. Straley also competed on the track, running the 400-meter dash and a leg on the 4x400-meter relay. His 400-meter time of 49.35 seconds ranks fourth in the league this season.
