If all our games were 7 innings, WCU might would be ok, unfortunately, they are 9 innings. Like last year, we don't have relief pitching that can carry us though the 8th and 9th innings. I'm not sure that Beck knew how poor our relief pitching was, or maybe he could have done something about it in recruiting.
I see another long year, as long as our starters can stay in we're in pretty good shape, after that, it's down hill, We just do no have a DI relief staff, not even close. Yeah, we have a lot of guys that can play other positions... and pitch, but that's not what we need.

All five runs were scored over the final two innings with Akron plating two in the top of the 9th; Catamounts threatened with a run in the home half but drop the finale by one. WCU visits Presbyterian Wednesday at 3 pm.
