Roberts overall record at VMI is 16-13 (1st). The Series: Western owns a 70-23 overall record with VMI, and is 35-9 in games played in Cullowhee. The Cats are 7-3 in the last 10 games played. In the SoCon preseason polls, the Keydets were picked to finish 7th in the coaches poll & 8th in the media poll. Designated hitter, Brett Cook, Jr. was tapped as first-team all-conference, and shortstop Zac Morris & 3d baseman Justin Starke were selected to the second team. The Keydets took two of three from UNCG over the weekend to move to 16-13 on the season, matching last season’s win total with nearly two months to play in the season. Third baseman Justin Starke is third in the SoCon with a .393 batting average and shares the league lead with 32 RBIs. He also paces the SoCon with 22 stolen bases, helping the Keydets lead DI with 115 thefts as a team. SCHEDULE UPDATE: Due to unfavorable weather forecasts, this week's SoCon series vs. VMI will now open with a DOUBLEHEADER on Thursday, April 6 beginning at Noon, with game two 45 minutes after. Game 3 is TBD for either Friday or Saturday.  |

I thought this would be a difficult series for the Catamounts, the Keydets are an improved team, and they have put up 3 home runs in the first 4 innings of this game.
I'm not a baseball coach, but I don't think I'd stick with a pitcher that has given up 3 HRs, but, that's just me.
It's 4-0 VMI, top of the 4th.

It's the top of the 6th, and the Keydets now have 11 hits off Catamount pitching. The Cats have excelled in errors with 2 thus far...

Catamount pitching just gave up another home run, it's now 7-3 Keydets in the top of the 7th.
That's 4 home runs for the Keydets, thankfully they were all solo homers...

The Cats scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 8th to tie the game, 9-9. Two outs, two on base, and VMI brings in a new pitcher, Caden Plummer.
