Cole Gonzales will be our starting QB (barring injury) to open next season. However, Bennett Judy is our future QB. From watching him in practice and hearing what the coaches are saying, he is impressive with a strong, accurate arm, lots of football savvy, intense and a quick learner. Everyone thinks he will be 6-4, 215 to 220 by the 2024 season. Not saying he is going to unseat Cole in the coming season, but we have a freshman QB with All-SoCon tools. All may well be true, but I’m having a hard time seeing Taron Dickens as an also-ran.

How do you not play him? Why would we spend the time and money to recruit kids we would normally not get to not give them a chance? People say play the best person, but stats should matter when it comes to competing for a position. I can promise you that he will be gone next year if he does not get a chance to play. With the portal, the old ways go out the window. The players have all the power. You only get one chance and so many years to play college ball and why waste it on the bench? I don’t blame these kids if they leave. It seems people have written him off and not even seen what he can do.

I enjoy reading your comments on Judy. I am pretty sure you have a great eye for pure talent as you have seen all the greats we've had from the Waters'days forward.

I am a little concerned about Dickens size. He is listed at 5-11, 175, but some say is more like 5-10. I think Cade Bell likes taller QBs. No doubt about Dickens talent level, but he could end up at another position. Just a thought....nothing I am predicting.

Sorry I missed you Saturday Mr. White while I was in Cullowhee. It was a beautiful day and Alex Gary coerced me into increasing my contribution up another level.....hahah Can't wait for the Bob Waters Tournament and the home opener versus Samford!!
