Catamount fans, I am traveling to Cullowhee on Tuesday for the Dalton State game to work on a feature for a new business venture I'm working on and wanted to know...
Where are the good eating spots?
I appreciate any and all input. Thanks

Catamount fans, I am traveling to Cullowhee on Tuesday for the Dalton State game to work on a feature for a new business venture I'm working on and wanted to know... Where are the good eating spots? I appreciate any and all input. Thanks Cullowhee:
Rodgers Bros is a new restaurant right there in Cullowhee. It is owned and operated by a former catamount football player. The atmosphere is just like a sports bar. TV's and Sports memorabilia everywhere. The burgers are really good but they also have chicken tenders, wings, sandwiches, hot dogs, milkshakes and beer.
Dillsboro:
Haywood Smokehouse is my personal favorite. If you like good BBQ then this is a really good option. Some of the best brisket I have ever had. Mac and cheese is really good too.
Kostas Express Restaurant is a greek restaurant that is very good. They have just about everything on the menu. I like their chicken gyro or the spaghetti.
Also got some good breweries like Innovation Brewing,Nantahala Brewing and Balsam Falls Brewing.
Hope this helps.

The ones suggested are very good. I would add Boots in Dillsboro and in Sylva Creekside Oyster House and Grill, and Lulu's. My wife likes Quadaloupe Cafe, but it is not my favorite, but it is ok.

Guadalupe closed after a 20-year run. The Lazy Hiker in Sylva is pretty good, there's a little Thai place between Sylva and Dillsboro, and the best burger in town is at Cosmic Carryout, located at Innovation in Sylva. There's a lot of good food (and beer) in Sylva and Dillsboro these days

Seems so odd, too. How many remember when you had to drive to Waynsville to buy beer on Sundays??? Even the Ingles didn't sell beer and you had to go into Sylva (the A&P for me) to get beer when I was there. And that was in the 1990s!!!

I was going to also suggest Ilda as an option, especially for a more-upscale environment. (It's located where Meatballs used to be, at the triangle in downtown Sylva).

I am driving up one day next week so I'm glad to see these suggestions of where to go.

The stretch between Sylva and Cullowhee is starting to look rough, because the DOT is knocking down buildings in preparation for road improvements. But downtown Sylva and increasingly Dillsboro are doing pretty well.
