This is BS in my opinion. Where is Bell?

If Bell had won the SoCon football championship for the first time...he would have been nominated.

Danny Rocco is a good coach and we better lookout for VMI over the next few years.....In his first year he took them from 1-10 to 5-6....Depending on how long he stays he will have VMI in the conversation...He is 63 and my quess is he will be there for 2-4 years....By the way they finished 4-4 in the SoCon.....

Iβd vote for Rocco. They were picked to be at the bottom of the conference and they finished right behind us. We were picked to finish 5th and we were 4th. Hard to imagine Hendrix getting it. Had they won the last game to finish undefeated (in SOCON and all FCS games) maybe heβd get it. But Furman was picked to finish 1st and I expect at the start of the season were probably projected to win 9 games.

Rocco would get my vote. I'm so happy for him and his team and for what this man has pulled off against a lot of odds in the SOCON. Don't get me wrong, it was a bitter pill to lose to VMI this past Saturday, but not because of the school. It was a tough loss because 1-I never want to see WCU lose, 2-Playoffs on the line, 3-Special group of seniors and team as a whole who seem to bond like family. BUT NOT because it was VMI. I have friends that went their then served in the forces. Good group of folks up there and a great institution. Any other year, if I had to lose, I'd rather lose to a tough and disciplined VMI than any other SOCON school. JUST MY VIEW, so nobody who has kids at Citadel or something don't go jumping down my throat. Also, if anyone listened to the end of game interview with Rocco, his parting words were, "WCU is a great and talented team, they deserve to be in the playoffs and I really hope they get in the playoffs, because they are talented enough to be considered". Now, maybe that was just "happy to beat a ranked team talk" but it seemed very earnest and from the heart. If so, classy move.

Kind of veering off-topic, but how cool would it be to see WCU and VMI move in and setup shop at the top of the conference for an extended period of time? Rocco is a very good coach and I think he will bring in better players. But I agree VMI guys are the types of young men that a good coach will be able to get the most out of due to their discipline and effort. They will be a handful going forward.
