I wanted to congratulate this team on their finishing the year in the top 25 fcs poll, being ranked #23. They didn't finish the season the way we all wanted but for the Cats to be nationally ranked, it is a big success.

As I've said before, I thought the possibility of playoffs was a year ahead of schedule, but then early-season success made me think, "well, maybe not." Here's to 2024.

Absolutely congrats to the team. It is said often, but starting out ranked makes it a whole lot easier to stay ranked. Given we finished in the top-25 and with all we have coming back, I’d expect us to have a lot of attention and be ranked relatively high to start next year. That helps given how hard our early season schedule is, but a loss against NC State won’t hurt us and as long as we are competitive against Montana we should stay ranked assuming we take care of business against the CAA teams. The SOS should actually really help us next year as long as we get back to 7 or more wins - I expect just like this season we need to have at least 6 SOCON wins.
This season the rankings may have been a distraction for the team, but if we want to get to the next-level we need to be able to handle that pressure.
