The Western Carolina track and field teams are ready to shake off some rust as they head to Knoxville to take part in the Tennessee Invite for the second meet of the 2024 outdoor season. The Catamounts return to Knoxville for the first time since the 2009 outdoor season when the Purple and Gold competed in the Sea Ray Relays. WCU took home an event win in the javelin thanks to then-freshman Darron Dotson's 60.80-meter throw. In addition, the Catamounts earned a pair of third-place finishes in both the men's 200-meter dash and the 4x400-meter relay. Action in Tennessee begins bright and early on both days of competition as the women's hammer throw opens Friday at 9:00 a.m. with Saturday's events opening with the men's portion of the same event, also at 9:00 a.m.
